Bhutan's valleys are grouped into three regions. Choose a place to see what there is to do, when to go and which of our journeys visit it.

Western Bhutan

Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and the valleys around them: the country's only international airport, its capital and its best-known dzongs. Most journeys start here.

Central Bhutan

Trongsa and Bumthang, across the Pele La pass: high valleys, some of Bhutan's oldest temples, and the heartland of its royal and religious history.

Eastern Bhutan

The least visited part of Bhutan: Mongar, Lhuentse, Trashigang and Trashiyangtse, reached by long mountain roads or from Samdrup Jongkhar on the Indian border.
